Mimsy Innocence in the Eyes of Email

The project: to create a quilted work inspired by the poem "the Jabberwocky".

I really was inspired by this project. I have read some of Lewis Carroll's work as well biographical information.

I tried to incorporate Carroll's suspect attraction to young girls intomy piece with knowing eyes of a child. I was inspired by the poem "Jabberwocky" and how much it is like the spam email we get everyday. Email, like the Jabberwocky, tries to infiltrate our lives by deception and has the power of destruction.

Fast Friday Fabric Challenge #1
Created by using a photograph of a tree taken by a friend as inspiration in my quilting class and a computer scan of a leaf I found.

I made a photo collage with the images and used a filter on my photo program to stylize the image. I then printed the image on fabric and quilted it with free motion sewing. For the tree I used dark monofiliment so that the color of the tree was not distorted.
